NTU Silat IVP Training Camp (15th May – 17th May): Day One

The day started with the heavens opening up during the early morning. As the camp proper would only start at 2pm, there’s nothing much to do but to wait for the rest to arrive.

After the usual camp briefing by Miss Farah, it was time to head for a run for the guys and gals followed by a session of bodybuilding in the mysterious ‘NIE Gymnasium’. ( More on that later.)

After getting confirmation from Physical Training Instructor (PTI) ‘Bruce’ Nasir on the route they were going to take, which by the way is the bus route of 179, the friendly, neighbourhood cameraman set off first to get a good view of the arriving runners at the NIE Gym.

And thus the wait began…

But it seemed that they were nowhere to be found. The wait for them at ‘NIE Gym’ showed no life signs of the runners. Hmm…

Even with the help of the nearby air-defence radar, the runners still couldn’t be located.

Alas, the wait was in vain and to help ease the disappointment, the friendly, neighbourhood cameraman began shooting some chicks, I meant birds.

Are they parrots? Not sure. But they sure are beautiful.

After returning to the chalet, dinner was set up on the outside benches.

After refuelling the tummies, it was then another round of filling up the IVP forms which includes the mandatory Medical Checkup forms.

Didn’t know completing the forms can be a serious business.

A night training session rounded the first day itinerary. Due to flat batteries, no photographs were taken during the training session.

That’s all folks. Stay tune for the next episode. Tata!
