Hey Team

One of my last few Farah Mails i suppose…boohoo. ..lol!

We had IVP Post Mortem today….shared all our input on everything abt the
club…IVP.. .Training. ..Recruitment. .etc.

And we also held elections today:)
I am overjoyed to announce the upcoming leaders of the next academic year.
They are….

Chairperson: Noor Ashedah Sarbini [Bengot]
Vice-Chairperson: Md Rizar Tambi [Pink Guava]
Secretary: Md Sufyan Sahri [Oddballs]

Whooopee! Congrats to the three of you yar, especially Ms Shedah Bengot for
uptaking the role of next BOSS. Hmm, I wonder if we’ll change her endearing
current nickname.

P/S, this Friday, some of us going Arnold’s to eat …watch movie
too…dunno what Hot Fuzz or Hot Fudge or something… .join if youre free k.
Just contact wan!

Goodnight, and yes its true, training resumes next Tuesday, further details
to be updated. Hehehe~

NUS Silat Invitational ‘07: The Final Chapter

The mosaic below serves as a curtain for the concluded NUS Silat Invitational ‘07.

It had been a wonderful experience for the whole NTU Silat Club and hopefully we’ll perform better when the next one comes knocking.

National Pencak Silat Championship : 2nd Week, 23rd June

Here’s the schedule for tomorrow’s fights taken from PERSISI’s website.

Arena A , 23rd June ‘07

Farah ‘Boss’ – 6pm

Yazid ‘Bubbloo’ – 8.45pm

Keep in mind that the matches usually do not start on time. Maybe you would want to contact our permanent correspondent Miss Lin before going. (She always attend the matches.)

The entry fee is $5 unless your age is between 7-12 years old whereby the entry fee is $3.

So if you are free do come down.

Hey hey! 1st NTU Silat Online Competition

Since the inception of ntusilat.wordpress.com, this virtual home of NTU Silat Club has grown from strength to strength, aiming to document the activities of the club itself and the exploits of its members in the Silat world. It also allows us to reach out to future entrees of Nanyang Technological University or National Institute of Education, hoping that they will be attracted to join NTU Silat Club when the new semester commences.

Cannot Believe It

Rub your eyes a few times yah.

Our two NTU Pesilats Rizman and Ridzwan, of the boyband group MWan, had defied all odds to clinch the 2nd placing in the National Pencak Silat Champioship ‘07 !

They lost by a mere 6 7 points to the winners.

Updated: National Pencak Silat Championship

Four NTU Pesilats will be participating in the upcoming National Pencak Silat Championship (PSK) representing their respective ‘perguruans’ or clubs. The fantastic four are:

Rizman and Ridzwan – Ganda Putera

Yazid – Tanding

Farah – Tanding

As of 11pm, Friday, 15th June, only the Ganda Putera schedule is known.

Both Man and Wan’s Ganda Putera category will start at around 9pm tomorrow, Saturday, 16th June.

Updated: Both Man and Wan’s Ganda Putera category will start at dunno when tomorrow, Sunday, 17th June.

Lin and Syahid are coming at around 12pm like that.

For those planning to go and watch Man and Wan, please call Lin first to update yourselves with the schedule as these timings are never really confirmed until the last minute.

And bring your water bottles and portable fans as it can get quite hot and stuffy in the Bedok Sports Hall.

The schedule for Farah and Yazid will be posted once confirmed.

Please come down and support them if you are free.

A Jog To Remember

As mentioned by Coach Ilyas, training will start on the 3rd of July ‘07.

And he reminded everyone to keep a healthy living and have a good break.

While you were sleeping…

While other Pesilats were busy forming up in the main ‘gelanggang’, the Keris Mandat Team ‘07, which consisted of representatives from the participating schools including two gentlemen from NTU, was thick in action too outside MPSH 5, performing an impromptu, off-key, off-note and off-pitch dikir barat item to entertain themselves while waiting for the Keris Mandat Ceremony proper.

Special thanks goes to Wak Jawo from TP who was acting as the ‘mengarut’ Tukang Karut and the coach from NYP Silat Club, who I think goes by the name of Abg Nana (from the info I gather from the NYP Silat Club webbie), who sportingly jumped into the role of Juara. Not forgetting the rest of the Keris Mandat Team ‘07 and Mr Wan (not our NTU Wan), the I/C for the Keris Mandat Team ‘07.

Thanks for the memories.
