Here’s something I found from the blog of Miss Azlina, a recent graduate from NYP and coincidentally an opponent of our Miss Shedah during her first fight. Miss Azlina had wonderfully agreed for an excerpt of her entry to be reposted here.

And during Ain’s match (not my teammate, but from NP), NTU and NYP combined as one to cheer for NTU. I didn’t join in cuz I consider Ain my friend, but the cheer really brought the house down and it was really fun. Hehe. Ain won though, congrats girl! =)

I think NYP is the loudest school so far.. but I have to admit, NTU’s cheers are really fun. There’s one that’s not your typical screaming cheer.. but it sounded like.. you know, those kinda songs Vikings chant in their low, deep voice when they’re on their way to war. Haha. Nice! =)

Sometimes its nice to hear some compliments. To all of you guys, well done, though our numbers are small, but I believe our hearts and voices are loud enough to resonate across the entire hall.

Compliments go out to the NYP Silat team for forming an alliance with NTU in cheering the athletes from both sets of school.

p/s. Do you all agree that the NYP cheers are quite catchy, creative and funny too? But I think NTU’s better.
