December Training

Hi all,

Hope all of you have been enjoying your much deserved break this holidays. Training will resume this coming Tuesday, 13th December 2011. In light of the upcoming TSC which has yet to be confirmed, early preparation is essential so we urge you to come down for training as frequent as possible.  There will be a PT session before training on both Tuesdays & Thursdays so do take note.  Details of pre-training & training sessions are as follows:

Pre Training:

  • Venue – Grand Stand
  • Time – 6pm
  • Attire – Half-u & running shoes

Training:

  • Venue – Activity Room 2
  • Time – 7.30 pm
  • Attire – Full-U

* Do fill your stomach with some food prior to training.

For any other queries, contact your call tree leader and do inform them if you won’t be coming down for training.

Training Matters for Sem 1 AY 2011/2012

We will be having a well deserved 2 weeks break from training rest, recuperate and get ready for the new semester for those schooling.

  • Next training dates are as follows:
  1. 11 Aug     5pm-7pm: Prep for welcome tea.
  2. 18 Aug     5pm-7pm: Prep for welcome tea.
  3. 23rd Aug  5-8pm: NTU Silat Welcome Tea Ceremony plus Iftar together (nasi Ambeng. insyaAllah!)
  4. 25th Aug  5-7pm: Freshies first official training
  5. 6th Sept   7-9.30pm: Start of regular semester trainings on tues and thursday

**All training and event venues are TBC based on availability.

 

  • Recruitment Drive will be on the 15th of August for the entire week. Stay tuned for more information!

Singapore Polytechnic Open Pencak Silat Competition 2011

On the 23rd & 24th of July 2011, NTU SILAT Club participated in the first ever Singapore Polytechnic Open Pencak Silat Competition (SPOPS) 2011. Despite putting forth a pretty small team, we’ve managed to clinch medals for the club.

 

Tunggal Putra – Bronze Medal (Md Hidayat Md Rabu)

Trio Class E,I,J – Bronze Medal (Amri Asbi & Md Fadzli)

Trio Class C, D, F – Bronze Medal (Md Ramli, Zulfiqar & Md Hafiz)

 

Congrats to all the pesilats who have given their utmost best for the team and special thanks to our coaches, team manager and supporters who have helped in one way or another for the competition!

10th Tertiary Silat Championships

Through the dedication, commitment as well as the teamwork put in by all in NTU Silat Club, we managed to bring back the 2nd Runner Up Overall trophy for our school. That was the highlight of this year’s 10th TSC hosted by PERSISI during the first week of April 11′. The following is the list of our achievements for this year’s TSC:-

Tuesday & Thursday trainings

5 – 7 pm. If you happen to be early, use the time wisely for jogging and own training/revision.
Saturday trainings
Dates: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
Time: 830 – 1030am
Attire: Half-u
Things to bring: Water bottle
Face towel
a change of clothes
Running shoes & socks (optional)

Note: There will be no training in the week after Xmas (25th-31st Dec).

All NTU pesilats are to be punctual for trainings. Those who are not able to make it or are going to be late due to some reasons, please inform the respective group ICs. This applies to all pesilats (current & new members).

Training on Thursday, 16 Sept 2010

Hi all,

This announcement goes out to Everyone, including our new members, seniors and alumni. Even if you’ve missed our Welcome Tea last Tuesday, you are still welcome to join us for this training session and be part of our NTU Silat family.

We will be having our next training session today, 16 September 2010 (Thursday). Please gather at the NTU Sports & Recreation Centre (SRC) grandstand by 730pm sharp. For Muslim pesilats, do come down earlier at 7pm to get changed and perform your Maghrib prayers before training starts.

Please be properly attired in a t-shirt and track pants. For seniors, you are to be in half-u. Bring along a pair of running shoes, water bottle and towel too.
